CANADA WORLD YOUTH’S GLOBAL LEARNER PROGRAM

The Global Learner (GL) program enables individuals and groups of youth aged 15 to 30 to participate in learning experiences in developing and emerging economies countries, through host family immersion and participation in community service projects. The projects last between 2 weeks and 3 months. GL accommodates students of high schools, colleges/CEGEPs, universities, interest-based groups and individuals outside of school.

The integral components of all Global Learner products are:

·         Cultural integration

·         Host family experience

·         Clearly defined experiential learning volunteer project

·         Educational element

·         Volunteer placements focused on development themes of health, gender and                 environment

The program is offered in 9 countries on three continents (with opportunities to expand):

·         Latin America: Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, Honduras

·         Africa: South Africa, Benin, Ghana, Senegal

·         Asia: India

A new partnership with organizations in Russia is currently underway.
